Possible Valve clearence issue - I need suggestions!

So here is the update for you guys regarding my last thread ( if you didn't see my last thread here is a little detail from it) I had my automatic CCTL changed to a Manual CCTL at a shop... It seems as though I have a tick now that wasn't there before, that is where I need some help. The update comes with a pretty good question. Got all of the valve clearences checked today. All of them were within the specified tolerance except for one.... Honda repair manual calls for < .008in ± .001in > Intake side, I got .006in on one of the Intake valves on number 4. I'm new to these shim under bucket setups so I am not sure if that one thousandth of an inch would make a big difference. I assume that it would or the guys that designed the engine would've put that within the tolerances as well. What do you guys think? is that too tight? could that be causing my tick? I was thinking that it could be keeping the valve open one thousandth of an inch causing a tick....... :icon_denk:

Thanks again guys!

ticks are usually caused by loose valves. imo, .001 is not enough to mess with. maybe your tick is a little exhaust leak at the header.

Tight valves dont tick really loose ones will, i`d check for an exhaust header gasket, or a hole in the exhaust somewhere as well. valve tick is normal tho if they dont tick you have an issue tight valves arn`t good.
