I WOULD think they are way more theft proof right? Is it even possible?

Would be if thieves picked locks.

But 5-seconds to pick it up and toss into van or truck is just so much easier.

Really, any key is 'easy' to get past. This might slow them down or deter them fo rthe night until they bring back the correct tools.
Google "how to bypass barrel key lock", you might be surprised.

I was actually about to edit mine other post but you're quick!!

I was going to add - I don't know if it would be possible. I've never had the ignition out of mine to see how they are mounted. The onlyh barrel switch I've ever used was for a hidden kill switch inline with the ignition. This might be someting you could try.

LOL your good.. Was trying to catch you before you got lost elsewhere in the internet.

Your kill switch had a key?

But I see these but I can't find any examples of it being installed or documentation

It was a 2 wire switch that I put in the door jamb so it was pretty well hidden. The 70's F trucks were so easy to steal you had to do something.

I bet if you called Dennis Kirk they could help you out with that. I just don't know enoguh about the ignition circuit to say yes/no that would be a direct replacement.

Wow nice, and Thank you I appreciate it.

I'm curious about this cause like 8 Mos ago some idiot tried and failed to steal my bike and just ruined the ignition.. I put a cbonese/ebay ignition switch I it and it's already wearing out and I fight to turn the key.. So I'm gknna probably have to replace it.. Again soon

ALSO just week ago some idiot tried and failed to steal my '00 Civic.. I gotta get out of this apartment complex.

But yeah my' 00 Civic and '02 f4i both almost stolen within under 8 months.

I also have a disk brake lock that screams if the bike moves /shocks.. I want to find a cut proof bike cover that can be somehow locked so they can't even **** with the bike without having to get under a Kevlar cover... Idk.. Just so frustrated with these pos.. Im already poor enough
