Hey guys, first real problem so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Just started yesterday and is kind of inconsistant. After the bike warms up and Ive been riding for a few miles, every time I accelerate from a stop (first 15mph) I get a popping noise. The only time I notice it is while accelerating from a stop.
Only thing Ive done recently but several hundred miles ago was, new tires, oil change, lubed and tightned chain. Could it be worn sprockets and chain? From what I can tell it is defineatly bottom end and on the left side because I can feel it in my left foot and audibly hear it pretty good. thanks in advance for any thoughts.

 

i'm guessing either your front sprocket it loose or your chain is too loose or tight

a friend of mine had an aftermarket front sprocket on a zx6 and it made a popping noise, went back to OE sprocket and went away
so that could be an option

 

Ill check the front sprocket. The chain is just right. Anyone else have an idea? Im looking to go down a tooth in the front and up one in rear and a new chain, just want lookin to do it right now.
