when you snap the throttle going into wot is that when you hear that "clunking" noise. my 900rr did that and when i looked down i had broken almost all of the teeth on my rear sprocket.

tension feels ok,it may be a lil loose but not too bad. and im pretty sure all my teeth are there, they might be a lil mis-shaped but not too sure they dont look horrible. i;ll try to tighten up the chain, and iff that dont work...umm.....ill do something else like bring it to the dealer, still under warrenty till 09,yea!

I had the same problem and I just used brake clean and a scrub brush .clean it real good and apply chain wax and it's gone,
There maybe a different cleaner but my chain had 11000 miles on it so i need something strong It took care of alot of noise clanking and vibration almost like a new bike

yup mine came from the chain. It was the stock chain and didn't even have that many miles on it. there were loose and tight spots that were on the total opposite sides of the spectrum. More than likely u just need to get it adjusted.
