pictures of nav systems?
Hey everybody,
Once it warms up a bit I plan on mounting my GPS onto my f4i somehow. I have two goals - 1, it must be sturdy enough to not fall off EVER and 2, it must be 100% removable with 0 modifications to the bike itself. I am thinking about purchasing a second mounting cradle and then tieing it down with some sort of nylon / velcro strap system. What have you all done...?

RE: pictures of nav systems?
hey theX - that looks REALLY clean - do you have any other close up shots, or could you possibly do a mini-writeup? What exactly is it that you used to mount the gps?
Also, I can imagine that it's tough to look at the gps while riding - but I think it would still be good to have as a reference for quick glances, right?

TheX has a MIO C310X. You can get them at Circuity City and Fry's for
$200. They are not water proof or water resistant.
TomTom and Magellen both see bike specific models that are waterproof. They both run about $600.
I mounted my Mio almost like he did. And for the most part it works really good. The only problem I have is that I have to take my eyes off the road to look at it. It is just low enough that I have to tilt my head down to see it. But it keeps me from getting lost, so it does its job. My next project is to get it hooked up to my battery so I'm not always using the internal battery.
