Pics of half naked F4i?

Ok just wondering if anyone is running their bikes with no side fairings?
Reason I ask is because I pretty much replaced rear and front fairing with front fender, new ignition, all new relays, new front headlight harness and new air rams. Got the bike at a great price. 01 600 f4i that was tipped/pushed over in PO garage damaging the fairings which somehow ripped apart the headlight harness wires. so now that she runs...great by the way. I was wondering if I could get pictures of members who run without side fairings. Also I noticed today that I do not have a chain guard on my swing arm. Would it be recommended to buy one before any serious riding is considered? Thank You for answering these odd questions. Here are the pictures of the resurrected beauty ( in my eyes ) Currently I park her in my living room seeing as how I live in a Apartment in MEMPHIS Tennessee.... |
my f4i was naked.

a chain guard is also good because it keeps the chain lubricants from flying all over the place when riding. my chain guard is cut a little short so i have some flying and hitting my undertail sometimes.

Do you have pictures of your chain guard? I like the idea of no chain guard for some reason....but a short cut off might be more appealing. |
I ride half naked because of busted up fairings from the PO too. Also no chain guard and my undertail and passenger peg are pretty grungy. I pretty much stopped cleaning it awhile ago. Should have three hoses as well, coolant overflow, fuel overflow, and fuel vent (I think) that are normally routed near the left fairing, I just tucked mine into the middle near the rear shock.

Could you post a few pictures? I am just wondering how nice the bikes can look with no side fairings....Just until I can get my hand on some. |
My chain guard fell off the second month that I owned my f4i. I have been running without one for almost three years and about 15000 miles and have had no problems without it.

Can you re-upload the picture? It showed it one time for me then disappeared. From what I saw...I like. I'm just looking for ideas because I am missing my side fairings and want to make my bike look decent without the side fairings until I get the change to get some in. So far only thing I am missing are side fairings and tagging the bike...then off to get my license! In the mean time I have been riding her all around the neighborhood like a mad man learning all I can about handling/turning/counter steering. I want to make sure when I finally get on the streets that I am going have semi-decent reflexs just incase a worst case thing happens. But as it is I am freaking addicted to being on the bike....not just speed...but it's a change from driving a truck daily since I was 16...I am 27 btw.

https://i.imgur.com/P57Znkb.jpg my best advice for you (and im not a pro, only been riding for few months) is to practice low speed maneuvers and u-turns (figure 8 is best way to practice that) cause these are pretty much the most challenging thing in the test, best thing to do, find an empty parking lot and practice and practice and practice, .... and practice. :icon_wheel: and taking the MSF course (about $485 here in Canada) is always a good idea and saves you money on insurance. and GOOD LUCK :icon_bowrofl: |

I agree with Raoufhakam. Learn to control the bike at low speeds better. Figure 8's and u-turns will teach you a lot about how much you can lean the bike in low speed areas. consider most people drop their bikes at low speed. practice clutch control as well. course = bonus. |
Not to ruin a thread, but do you have the fairing (Right) for your bike you want to sell?

Sadly, I do not have any side fairings at the moment.
Did you convert yours to a stunt bike? I like that 1 piece seat from the post above yours. |
My fairings are being repaired and being ready for my new paint job. So they are not for sale. Sorry.
And yes, converted mine to stunt. But just think of mine without the cage and it's basically naked. |

Holy mother of Bike Porn!

Caught her streaking through my driveway. Dirty girl.

That's actually very helpful for future references. Maybe someone should make a sticky with several detailed pictures of cbr 600 f4i that is naked.
