Default PCIII Not Connecting to comp

I have the 9pin to USB connect because it's easier,I thought that might be the problem, but they say that shouldnt be the problem. Says that the COM port is open butPC isn't there. The connection to PC from PC is fine, and the bike is on like i am about to fire it up.

Anyone had this problem?

When you turn the bike on, does the PCIII go through a self test, with the lights on it coming on?

hey rob have you thought about just taking it out for now and enjoying the bike without the tuning. sometimes like when you get a bike tuned too well it can make the bike feel alot different and not always in the good way. since youre kinda new to riding maybe you should just enjoy it 1st then after you get more experience on your f4i then add the pwr cmndr . iono its just my thoughts ... maybe when this weather gets better we can go for a ride. lemme know if you need help with anything we can meet up and ill do what i can.

Yeah, thats what i figured. Thats why i put it back to "0" or the middle or whatever. Right now it shouldn't be tuned in anyway.

yeah, when it gets better outside we should meet up, maybe you can ride it and tell me what you think. I need help w/ the damn turn lights in the back also, they are all messed up.

To connect the PC to the computer, you have to connect the 9V battery...are you doing that?

Not if the PCIII is installed on the bike. You only need the 9v battery to power the PCIII if it's not installed on the bike.

In order for the computer to 'see' the PCIII, the key must be on - preferably the engine is running so you can read the stats off the PCIII.

The serial connector stuff has always been a little wonky. The USB connection is the easiest and most reliable.
