Default PC3 Vs. PC3 USB?

I recentely bought a used PC3 off a guy here for $125. I looked into the differece between the two PC's and all i really got was that the PC3 has a serial cable instead of the USB. And also the USB has expansion ports or something like that. Other then that I got from what i read, that the PC3 can run the same maps and everything that the USB3 can do. Is this correct or is the USB THAT much better that i should have forked over another 150 for it? thanks

The only real benifit is that the USB is easier to hookup to different PC's since it recognizes it so easy. If you tried hookin it up to a laptop you may need drivers for it to recognize it. Plus alot of lap tops don't have serial ports any more. You will be fine, especially if you don't know how to0 hook the damn thing up to a laptop strap it to the bike ride around and make adjustments as you go. I know I sure as hell don't.

Try the USB in every single USB slot you have. I've seen it where plugging it into a different port makes a difference with some devices. Not sure whay, but worth a try

I remember reading on the Dynojet website not to fool around with the LOW_MID_HIGH buttons - and definitely NOT to rely on sequential led's as they aren't there for precise tuning/feedback.

Which begs the question....Gimmick?
