Ebay...
I just got aset from TPOParts on ebay. I paid for them on Friday and they arrived today (Wednesday). Pretty fast turn around.
Here's a link to another auction still in progress. The buy it now price is $24.99 and shipping was $6.00 for USPS priority. TPO Honda CBR 600 F4 / F4I Emissions Removal Blockoffhttp://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif What are you going to use to block off the third hose? I haven't yet figured it out and the directions don't say anything. |
RE: Ebay...
I knew they made these things somewhere. You can always use a marble, that's what i did with my Suzuki 1600 cruiser I used to have.

RE: Ebay...
I just bought the plates. What hose are you talking about? The one from the valve cover?

RE: Ebay...
Do all bikes have this or just the Cali models? What's this worth, 1-3 HP???? (seriously want to know).

My Reason For The Mod
I think all F4i's have the pair valve. From what I can tell there are a few reasons to do this mod but the one that interests me is for if the bike crashes. I want to get more into stunting the F4i so I removed the tip sensor. If the bike is laid over it will not shut off and it appears that oil can move from the valve cover up the hose into the air box. From what I read, if enough oil is sucked into the air box and back through the intake the motor can hydrolock. Meaning the the oil would then be sucked into the cylinder and lock the motor. It seems that the bike would have to be laid over for some time for this to happen but if it's still running in might not take that long. Who knows, why chance it? About horsepower... I've heard it adds a bit but I've never seen a dyno result proving it. I've also noticed that the idle is a little higher and needs just slightly adjusted. This may not have been from the mod, but I noticed it after the pair valve was removed.

RE: My Reason For The Mod
Well, I'm not stunting and wouldn't need to remove my tip sensor. I am interested in MORE POWER (who isn't). I suppose I should do this before I get my custom map done (sarcasm).

RE: My Reason For The Mod
It would take a long time to get that much oil into the cylinders to lock the motor, but anything is possible. I hit a deer shortly after getting this bike and it was on its side for about 10 or 15 minutes. We let the bike sit for about another half hour and then fired it up, no problems. rode it home about60 miles and had zero issues with it. The reasons i am doing it is 1. get rid of the hoses to help gain access to my coils and plugs. 2 the bike should pop less on decel as you are not injecting any more air into the exhaust.3. a possible gain of a horse or two.
