i think it looks hot, but leave the seats black...

+ 1
Colored seats just don't do it for me but if that's what you really like, don't listen to us.

If you could pull that off to look like that then it would be pretty sweet, but honestly I think the actual result would not look as nice as the ol' photochop

So I want to paint my bike...I like the stock setup, but I just want something a little different. Now granted, I can't afford to do this for a few months AT LEAST but what I am trying to do is figure out how I want to do it so in the meantime I can powdercoat and anodize anything I think might fit with the scheme....

here is an idea i thought of...VERY crude....and sorry about the crappy photoshopping, i am just too lazy to do things well...it gives a good idea of what I am looking at roughly....

please feel free to comment on whether you like it, hate it, have ideas to "spruce" it up...or if you know of other bikes with the same color-ish scheme that I might consider....anyways...

i have to figure out what to do so i can price it, save up, and do some things in the meantime...sooooo...everyone have it...let me know what you think...
I'm in negotiations with a custom painter now for my FJR. I want to get the pearl white that you see on Caddies and some Audis, then, on the bottom-most coat of clear, before all the build up, I want to add just the slightest hint of purple Kandy to the clear, then layer on the clear. The painter I'm talking to is going to shoot some test panels for me. Can't wait... It'll be a pretty unique look when it's done, and on an '06 FJR, it'll definitely be a unique bike.

huh...well when you get the test panels, post 'em up, i'd be interested in seeing how that looks...also, let me know what he quotes you....

....i got a quote from a custom motorcyle painter who said he could do the entire bike in like a gloss black with a few simple fades (whatever that means) for about $1500 and could do a total custom job for like $2k - $2.5k....

I have NO idea how that is in price...i have never had anything painted before but it seemed sort of reasonable....with that he's including sanding, smoothing, priming, the works with it....i dunno....once i get an idea down, i am going to start going out and getting quotes on it

The "simple fades" he's talking about are the large-area black-to-red or red-to-black fades you're showing. Commonly, a "simple" fade is just a one color fade into the background color. The red/black lends itself well to that.

that is what i figured....looking at...to me at least...it doesn't seem like what i am showing is THAT complicated...i just like the style i threw up there....it lends itself to a lot of accent pieces to make it pop and it looks fast to me...

anyone know what a paint job like that should run...is $2k - $2.5K too much??

i got my paint job for $600 with all the works (sand, primer etc). Granted, its just a solid grey color but i think anything over 1000 would be way to much for painting a bike. Btw..i live in the O.C and everything here is pretty expensive. I would keep shopping around if I were you.

Mine ran for 2500$ so since yours is only 2 different colors and not 26 different colors of blue and black it should be around that
