Painting exhaust? (pic)
I finally found a Micron high mount system, had been looking for a couple months. Only problem is, it's not the red/black I wanted, it's a black/silver, with a couple scratches. My buddy works in a body shop, with access to a spray booth. He says he can make it any color I want, butwill I have problems with the paint peeling or flaking?
What do you all think?
This is the red/black I'm hoping for.

For what it's worth I called Micron one day and asked if I shipped my can to them if they'd put a new sleeve on it. They will do it but it's pretty pricey. You can probably buy another used can for what they want to put a new sleeve on them. Just thought I'd share.

that is the same pipe i have on my bike. the black and silver would look sick on my bike and would go perfect with the color scheme. i would trade you sleeves, but mine has kind of a healthy dent near the end of the can. and yes you are right about the sleeve being pricey. i called micron the other day to see about getting that sleeve replaced. i could just buy a whole new can for that cost

I'm not sure if its a metal that can be powder coated, but it's made to resist the heat of exhaust gases so it probably is. Hi-temp powder coating will stand up to most extreme hear scenarios. I had a turbo manifold for my 02 eclipse powder coated and never had one issue with the paint holding up and that thing got d*mn hot. Only downfall is that it can be a bit pricey.
