Default painted rims

I am thinking of painting my rims. I was wondering if I can just pain over the powder coat or do I have to take that all off. Is it a pain in the rear end or what? Any suggestions on what kind of pain I should use. I just might leave them alone if its too much trouble. thanks in advance.

i don't think the rims are powder coated jus painted, right? well.. what I would do is just get them powdercoated... let them sand blast it and coat it.. it's not that expensive.. and it'll beat tryin to get it right ...

If im not mistaken, wheels are anodized. I actually just had my wheels powdercoated, and in my opinion, i think they came out really good. I will try and get some pics of mine up soon. but i would definately recommend it.

I believe that the main difference is that powder coating is significantly more durable than painting. I've never painted my rims, but powder coated several and not had any problems with the color chipping or peeling off after a year or so of regular use.
