I am looking at a 2002 CBR 600 F4i that is for sale locally.

The bike has 19,000 miles and that is what concerns me. The guy that has it bought it from a dealership last year with 17k miles on it. The bike is in great condition and looks great with an M4 pipe being the only mod.

Are the miles too high? He will take $3600 for it...is that a good deal? What would you guys pay?

Try to find out if the 16k mile service was performed. You may also need to replace the cct but that is a pretty cheap job. I think that is one hell of a deal, if the 16k service was performed you won't have to worry about anything except wear items like tires, brake pads, chain/sproket, but those can go bad anytime depending on the rider.

 

talk him down to 3K if you can...but i say fair for that mileage is like maybe 3300 or so.
ditto on the maintenance, make sure that the fuel filter was changed and that he got the valve clearance check at the 16K service. chec for rust on the chain, any bent levers, etc.

19K isn't too bad at all, although some people say 'dang'...i have almost 36K on my 02 F4i and she runs great! well...she gets a little hot but i need to swap the thermostat.

you up to paying that much more for an 02 with lower miles? if so then take it. it's a decent price.
what else is there included with that deal? talk him down to 4500 or so...but i'm a cheap bastard...LOL...
