36 more hours and i'll be making my first run on the dragon! I'm really excited. Leaving the Boston area at around 2 tomorrow after class. meeting my dad and a freind in CT to drive through the night, one bike in the bed, 2 more in the trailer. plus on saturday, a guy my dad met through a ducati forum is touring us around some other lesser known roads on his MV Augusta. Not sure if there is internet access at Deals Gap, but i'm taking lots of pictures and will have plenty of video footage to manipulate as well. SO EXCITED!!!!

Watch out for the popo especially on the dragon. Might want to hang out at the CROT for a bit and ask someone that just came down the dragon about popo activity. They'll nail you in a heartbeat for even touching the double yellow too, just an FYI

BTW you'll have no cell phone reception when you're there, not until you get to Robbinsville area. You can find internet access though... not sure about the CROT but at Fontana Village you can pick up an unsecure WiFi signal at the building with the restaurant/games/pool/ect. I think the main registration building might have it too

I'm jealous! I'm leaving for there Oct 24. Riding my bike from Milwaukee WI with a backpack and somehow I think I'll need to strap some sort of small duffel bag to the rear seat. I should probably start trying to figure that part out. lol HAVE FUN!!

I have Cingular...err AT&T now I guess, lol. Nobody in the group ever has reception up there though, with various carriers

 

Just got back this morning and it was absolutely amazing. some of the best riding i have ever experienced. Only rode the dragon 4-5 times, SOOO many other good roads in the area that were more fun and less patrolled. 3 days on the Cherohala Skyway and not a single cruiser. I'm going to do another thread sometime this week that goes more in depth.
