Oil Leak and Smoking F4I
 

I bought a 2001 F4i about 6 months ago, and it has been running great until I went out for a ride with some buddies about a week ago. We noticed before the ride that I had a small oil leak coming from the left side of motor, but decided it was small and that I could just keep an eye on it. (horrible I know, but I hadnt ridden in a month) About 2 miles into the ride the bike starts smoking like crazy and as we pulled up to a light the bike died, and wouldnt restart. The bike acts like it wants to turn over but stops. I'm afraid I blew the head gasket or something. Any one got any ideas Please Help, and thank you.

Start by finding the leak....

1 Find the leak - probably dropping on the exhaust
2 Probably a faulty battery - check your charging rate - should be 13.5V + May have a faulty reg/rectifier.

I don't think the two problems are linked - but I have been wrong before........:(
