OEM tire question

Hey

I just recently replaced my OEM bt tires with pilot powers due to dry rot. I must say I love them and the way they ride. I love the flickability of them

My question is to the people who had rode both these tires and how they compare durability/mileage wise. I did a lot of highway with my stock bts and they held up pretty well with how hard I rode them. I am kinda iffy about doin touring with these tires b/c I'd rather save the rubber for the twistiies rather than square them out in a couple hundred of straight road. If thats the case..I'll take the car. tires are expensive for a grad student

I got 8k out of my last set of PP 2CTs. They were fairly squared off at the end, but they still held up.

Tires are expensive for anybody! :icon_wink: If you're running the 2CT's, then you can do whatever riding you want & get pretty even wear. If you're running regular PP's & you do a lot of staight-line riding, then yes, you'll most likely wear the centers down. Most importantly though, to make sure you get the most out of your tires...be sure to check your pressures frequently. I check mine at least once a wk...whether they need it or not. ;) Either way, you'll be a lot more happy w/ the new tires vs the OEM'ers.

There was a thread recently on PP2CT wear. Many of us have gotten great performance & long wear from these tires. Be sure to check out that thread.

thanks
yes i'm running reg pp. maybe my next set will be more of an all around tire...but I sure do love the grip these tires give..confidence inspiring.

well there is rain here all week so I'm gonna end up taking the car.

i had pilot powers... now i have pilot road 2ct... they are JUST as good as my pilot power in terms of grip and are suppose to offer way more mileage. I"m told these should last roughly 11-12k which to me is roughly one season :D

without properly scrubbing my tire the grip was awesome now that the tire is scrubbed a good bit it's even better!!
