'nother tire post
my 208's are toast, im looking at the pilot powers. is the dual compount worth it?
i mostly wore the center of my rear down and the sides of my front, slightly cupped the front.
would this help even out the wear pattern?
im striving to wear down my tires evenly but the more i turn the more i need to wear out the middle of the front then the opposite for the rear! center is toast sides are good, sides are toast center is good. arrrgg!!!
so is it worth the extra 30 something $?

they are good tires...very worth it...
as far as wear pattern, that's how most bikes are...unless you solely use it for canyon carving and track..then the center will stay while the sides go away.
if you ride around town a lot you may also want to try diablo stradas, lots of stick and a much harder compound in the middle.

sounds odd to me. I don't understand how you could have a chicken strip on the rear tire, but have worn sides on the front tire. Have you been riding with the proper tire pressure? You have to check that **** every couple of weeks.
If you have a chickenstrip on the rear tire, then you probably do alot highway riding. Then you might not want to get the Pilot Power's. They are a better tire, but you will go through them faster. And you won't probably notice the benifits they provide if you don't hit the twisties.

the tires are by no means squared off, i try to hit curves everyday on the way to work and go on longer rides on the weekend so they do get there lean on all the way to the edge. i keep up on the pressure 32psi front and rear, ive ran higher pressures and noticed a loss in grip so im sticking with that.

32PSI?! Hmmmm I'm running like 42 I think which is what the sticker on my bike says. Maybe I'll try lower but I'm fat like 230 right now and losing weight. =) This weekend it's supposed to be 70 so I'll get out hopefully up to Kettle Moraine area and ride hard at a lower pressure. I haven't had the bike out since Sunday. =(

mike don't go too low on pressure especially if you're heavy, riding hard and have stock suspension...the tire may tuck and flex...no fun...but usually if you're nice and smooth, even with higher pressure, say 37...you'll be fine.
