Highway 36 is certainly one of the top motorcycle roads in all of California if not the entire U.S.A. A terrific road very similar to a roller coaster that travels over every type of twist and turn imaginable. The portion documented here runs from Hwy 101 just south of Fortuna, California on the west to Red Bluff, California, 136 miles to the east. The road continues east of Red Bluff going up to Mt. Lassen, but that will be covered on another page. If you want excitement and a motorcycle challenge, then set your sights on the portion of Hwy 36 outlined above. </B>Other great motorcycle roads that you will want to check out our Hwy 96 (the Kalamath Hwy) which runs north and east out of Willow Creek, Hwy 3 going north out of Weaverville and goes into the Trinity Alps and Trinity Reservoir, and Hwy 3 heading south to Hayfork and begins 6.1 miles east of Weaverville. This is in my backyard! i love the twistys out to the beach! |
