Default Non Adjustable Forks/shock

Hi All,

New here so be gentle, I've only had my license 2 years and very limited knowledge on bikes. Anyway I purchased a 2007 CBR600F as my first bike. On Sunday I had my first incident.... bike......gravel....small slide. Its snapped the mirror off, both indicators, scratched the fairing and generator cover and a couple of marks on swing arm. All repairable but still frustrating. After coming off I instantly remember a friend saying that when he went on my bike a couple of weeks ago it felt like the front was too light and the back was dragging, he is a much more experienced rider than me so I believe his judgement.

Which brings me to the forks and shock on my bike I don't have any adjustment on the front forks what so ever yet older F4i bike do? And im pretty sure but have not looked that on the rear shock there is also only preload adjustment?

Any help would be appreciated

I do think in the latter years they 'cheaped' out a bit on the UK bikes by removing some of the fork adjustments, the rear shock should still have rebound and compression, that said there would not generally be an issue unless something was broken.
How many miles has the bike done? It might have been registered in 2007, but i'm pretty sure they stopped making them in 2006.
Mine is a US 2006 which still has the fully adjustable shocks
Please post some pics.

Have you looked through the owners manual? It may indicate what and how adjustments are made on the suspension.

Thanks for the replies, It must have been registered in 2007 as they did stop producing them in 2006. I have very little to compare to in terms of feel apart from the bike i learnt to ride on and that was cbf 600. I will upload some photos later when I get home from work. I dont know if it was me being tense after coming off but it felt very twitchy on white lines. This is the first time ive really looked into the set up as it never felt that bad before. The owners manual I have got doesn't seem to show much apart from preload settings. It is currently on 2 which is probably abit soft for me being 6ft and 90kg?

The twitchy feeling could be the tyres and that you will have more weight over the front end, and yes the reload for you is probably 5 or 6.
Clearly it will be different, but that does not make it wrong when compared to the CBF.

You don't keep photos of your motorcycle with you at all times? It's right up there with the wife and kids ya know.. Photo of triple tree as well as rear suspension will be great. Then naturally a full spread of the entire bike as well while you're at it... lol

Very nice, and I can relate to the rash. Not sure where you're based, but here in the US, that bike would be a 2004-2006 F4i. The style of the 600F on the tail section leads me to believe this is a EU version. I'm pretty sure it's going to have preload and rebound adjustments.

Im in the UK so you're correct with the EU version.
