Noise from engine
 

So socal is super hot right now and i dont know if it has anything to do with it, but ive noticed recently that my bike has a weird ticking sound. I know its definitely not my cctl because i just changed that and it doesnt rattle at a certain rpm. Its like a ticking noise at idle when my bike is about 215 degrees cuz its so hot. 215 is when you can really hear it at idle but you can hear it at lower temps as well. During idle you can hear it and when i give it gas to go i can hear the ticking go faster and faster as the revs go up. Could it be my valves? A rider told me that if i can hear something then something inside must broken for sure like a spring or something but i just want more feedback than just from one person. Thanks

your valves may need adjusting..how many miles are on the bike??

Also, the injectors make a ticking noise thats noticeable at idle, but you shouldn't hear it otherwise..

Yeah I would say it sounds like a valve tick to me.

I hear that kind of stuff as well, its usually when my bike it warming up though, during idling, but I swear I hear something of a tick noise sometimes, I have 14,000.

The manual calls for the first valve check/adjustment at 16,000 miles, you might be needing one a few thousand miles early.

im at 30k and thanx for feedback now i know its a valve now its time to sell my bike after 10 months and upgrade to a 1000

if you have engine experience and a feeler gauge, the honda service manual, and some time, you should be fine. Thats just checking them, if they are bad you have to buy shims for them. My honda shop will check valves for $100, and adjust if necessary for 75 more. Im in debate if i am just going to do it myself still since i was just in there replacing the cam chain.

so it turns out that the noise is coming from the crankcase or crankshaft or something. I took it to a shop and thats where they narrowed down the sound to. Anyone know what it can be because theyre gna take it apart tomorrow and see whats up. I just want a brief idea of what the possibilities can be
