the no upper fairing look :)

Hey guys,

I'm close to getting my bike back together but have no fairings.

I really just want to ride it as soon as possible and am wondering how it will look with no upper fairing. In other words, it'll just have the headlights sticking out the front lol.

I'm going to need the tail for sure to cover up all that stuff back there. I'm just looking for some info and/or some pics of an F4i with no front fairings.

Is there any reason it has to be there?

Thanks for any help.

It'll look goofy as all get out, but still rideable. I'd make sure the wires are tied down well, and it'll will hurt your aerodynamics big time.

1. you would have to figure out how to secure the headlight/gauge assembly to the fairing bracket.
2. if you ride in the rain, be sure to water proof your wires and connections.

isn't the bank angle sensor attached to the front fairing? I don't know for sure, but you might not even be able to start the bike, until you secure that sensor. Just something to look out for if you are unable to turn it over.

The bank angle sensor is attached to the top of the headlights.

I assumed the headlights mounted to the upper stay. is this not true?

it aint gonna work

the headlight sits in the upper stay BUT... it attaches to the fairing .... no fairing= no headlight

Yeah, you're pretty much screwed unless you want to really ghetto rig the crap out of it, which is definitely not recommended.

There's always a way to do anything. And yes, you can rig it up w/o the front fairing. However, it will take quite a bit of time just to rig it...prob more time than just putting a new front fairing on there. You'll have to fab up a bracket to hold the headlight assembly & either ziptie the hell out of it, or mount bolts where they prob shouldn't go. As pointed out, be careful of electrical connections...that they should be waterproof.

I just recently saw one that had the front fairing removed to make it a streetfighter *but* two custom HIDs were used w/ custom made bracket mounted. It was carefully thought out & executed.

Whatever you do...good luck.

ziptie the hell out of it<<

LOL!

It would take a bag full of 'em, that's for sure. Ghetto rig doesn't even begin to describe it.

If one wants a naked bike, one should buy a naked bike.

I luuuuuuuuuuuuuv the street-fighter look on many bikes, and the F4i is no exception. If done properly it can look like one lean mean street-fightin machine.
Here are the brackets:
