Default No Codes Flashing After Code Clearing

Hey all. I have a 2005 CBR600F4i with the MIL light on. I got the bike from an insurance auction. When I got it home, it was giving me codes 12, 13, 14, and 15 but it ran fine so obviously the injectors were still working. So I decided to clear the codes to see if I could make the light go away. The MIL light went away for a bit, but next start up it was back. I went to check the codes again by jumping the green and brown wire, but the MIL light just stays off. Nothing is being flashed, it's just off. Bike still runs fine, but should I check the injector connectors to see if there's a loose connection somewhere? Is my ECU toast? Not really sure what my next step should be.

Hi and welcome to the forum. While you are working on the bike, do you have it on any type of stands, or on it's side stand?

I currently have it on the kickstand but I believe that the kickstand switch has been bypassed.

@KNT56 Do you have the Honda Service manual for your bike? Where are you getting your instructions for retrieving the codes?

Greetings & Sautations!!

Yes, please post your code clearing and checking procedure. Some of it may need sidestand down, so you might have to undo bypass.

Procedure in manual for injector includes:

- measure 5v reference signal
- test for shorts
- measure injector impedance
- verify grounding trigger signal from ECU

I'd say if bike's running OK, don't bother with injector connectors, might introduce additional errors. Get the error code retrieval and clearing done 1st and go from there.

I've been using the instructions for code retrieval from here on page 5-6 and the code clearing instructions from 5-7. I do not think the side stand need to be down for either procedure, but I'll see if I can undo the bypass and go from there.

@KNT56 Yes, it's hard to read the note on the left side of page 5-6. If it doesn't know your side stand is down, then it won't blink the light.

Turns out the kickstand was not bypassed. Just tested it by trying to go into first gear while the stand is down. I'm going to check my sensor connections and wiring harness for anything unusual.
