newbie please help 2001 f4i throttle problem
when I wanna rip on the throttle sometimes the power will cut off and then come back, like its choking or something, and on long rides when remain on a certain speed it will do the same constantly power cutting off and then coming back, could it be some electrical problem? And oh yeah the bike is stock except I bought it with no muffler so i am running a straight pipe right now.

get rid of the straight pipe and see if that makes a difference, also are you lugging the bike around in low rpms?
|
I'm not lugging at low rpms but I will get a muffler on it and see what happens. Thanks

I agree, get a good muffler on it. Straight pipes are nice and loud but the engine needs to be tuned for it.
Also, check your battery and charging system. A poorly charging battery can play all sorts of hell. |

Check your battery terminals first. Its the zero-cost thing to do.
|
- battery terminal/loose ground connection
- bad/contaminated fuel (use stabil, marine grade if you have it)....poor quality fuel - crimped hose/line beneath the fuel tank |
