But I personally think you should max your bike out before you mod it out. As a self proclaimed noob you have no idea what that bike's limits are. Find out, then modify what you don't like because you know what needs to be changed, not because you read about it on some internet forum or you friend says it is great. IMHO

RE: Newb wants to add Power Commander III mod
The main purpose of a Power Commander is to adjust the air/fuel ratio to accomodate modifications to the engine.
The side effect is that even with a zero map the Power Commander smooths out the throttle response.
What everyone is trying to tell you is that you need to learn to ride the bike first before you mod it. The F4i is a bad bike for n00bs to begin with. Throwing parts at it will make it worse.
Put some frame sliders on and spend your money on safety gear. No need to spend money on performance parts until your butt is armored head to toe.

Remember that the engineers that Honda employs to design these bikes are very clever, they spend alot of time creating a well balanced reliable machine. Spend time riding your bike before you spend money changing things, it is a pretty amazing piece of work right out of the box.
