Default new rear tire time

my plug freakin leaked again and my tire went flat saturday in the boonies[:@]. found a mom and pop gas station about 1/4 mile away. they had nothing except some fix-a-flat. went back to the bike and aired her up. rode back home and parked her. man i'm pissed. 1500 miles and its new tire time. i'm gonna bring the rim into the shop tommorow and get a qualifier put on since myfactory tires were ancientd207's which you can't find anymore. only thing i'm worried about is leaving the bike onswingarm stand for a day. just dont trust it. should i bring thebikein (would have to wait till friday)or should i trust the stand and just bring the rim in. You don't need a new tire, likely. An internal patch will do. Don't fret. And yeah... the bike on the stand will be fine.

new tire > boot > plug > fix-a-flat

what type of stands do you have that you don't trust having your bike on?

if you can't trust it with tire gone, how can you trust it to do maintenance and not have that thing fall on you?

scenario: i'll have to take the wheel off tomorow before work, bring the wheel to the shop at lunch and pick it up on the way home from work. its an aluminum fly racing stand. btw, it seems to flex and slides on the swingarm compared to my old LP stand. the last thing i need is the bike falling off the freakin stand. its gonna make for a long work day when i know the bike is sittin on the rear stand. i'd save 20 bucks by bringin in just the wheel[&:]

you need to glue some stuff on the pads...there's that cabinet liner stuff you can get a whole roll at costco..it's spongy and pad foam stuff...it sticks will...glue that stuff on your pads and it shouldn't slide no mo.

My stand's kind of cheesy too. What I do is run a rope from the bike to an overhead eyelet in case the
stand flops over. BTW tire "plugs" are just a temp fix until you can get a car type internal patch or get
the tire replaced. Bike tires flex a little too much for plugs.

Sometimes it helps to clean off the underside on the swingarm before you put it up. Sometimes you get grease under there and that doesn't help it from sliding on the stands.
