Default New Owner(sort of) 2001 F4i

Hello everyone, I've been trolling around here learning since Sept. when my woman made it clear she wanted a bike for the next season. At first I was leaning towards an 05 636 as my friend has one and Im inlove with the signal indicator mounted in the front lower faring, to this day I still think thats the slickest looking bike but anyways she found a bike on cycletrader.com and pulled the trigger. So I drove 8hours after work from Toronto to Columbus Ohio to pick it up. Mind you I've never ridden a bike before and still havent even taken the knowledge test. Seller was a straight shooter and honest guy. Bike was a one owner. He had almost all service records since the day of ownership. Bike was downed apparantly by his friend. Left upper and lower are scuffed, left mirror was replaced with reciept and frame sliders were added shortly thereafter. Mods include, Corbin seat, Two BrosC2 highmount, PCIII and unknown undertail. I bought the bike with just shy of 28,000miles or 44,500km's. When I picked up the bike I just started it and that was enough for me. We loaded it into the back of a GMC Savana and strapped the **** out of it so it wouldnt move. Anyhow I paid $2500 and it runs like a top so far. I can tell by inspecting it after I got home it'll need a new chain. But at this price im not complaining. Here in Canada these bikes go for $6000 all day long. So Im excited about learning and DIY. Anyhow enough babling and on with the pics

sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I wouldnt worry about the miles, an F4i can run 100,000 miles with regular maintenance. A new sprocket and chain kit averages about 170 US dollars.

Forgot to add the (sort of ) is because this is my Womans bike.

Also if anyone can identify what kind of undertail it is that I have? Is there anyway to get rid of those orange idicators beside the brake light?

If not can you identify which integrated tail light and undertail this is as Im interested in changing my rear and also adding flushmounts to the front, Suggestions with pictures/links are appreciated

My original post is pictures of the bike my girlfriend owns.

The other 3 bikes in my second post are of 2 different types of undertails. 2 pictures of each undertail. I made the second post because I saw the undertails and I wanted information on them as stated in the post

first two pics looks like the bike doesn't have an undertail, just a chopped fender.
third pic looks like the competition werked fender eliminator kit www.competitionwerkes.com
fourth pic couldn't tell for sure, but i've seen a similar undertail on pimpbike.com http://www.pimpbike.com/HONDA%20UNDE...4I-S-0103.html

if you want to get rid of the indicators there are quite a few mods you can do. i have a clear alternatives taillight with integrated signals. www.clearalternatives.com

cheers,
D.

thank you very much, so my rear undertail has the factory tail light? I guess i'll need both a new undertail and a integrated tail light?

Sorry guys Im new to this and still taking it all in.

I just dont want any amber on my bike and since I've never seen the rear indicator lights on my bike or seen any replacement, I guess I'll need to remove everything.*sigh*

yeah it looks like you have the stock. the stock version is also with bulbs, most aftermarket now use leds as far as i can tell.
maybe you can just remove the existing signals and just replace the taillight with an integrated unit and not have to switch undertails as well.
