Default New guy to the forum, looking at a F4i

Hey guys, I'm new to the cbrforum. I am on Sportbikes.net and r6central.com. I am actually looking at a 2001 F4i right now, the only problem is it has a race body on it and I want it to be street legal, not track only. I'm trying not to spend too much on my first bike, just looking to get my feet wet for now. If anyone is interested in getting this race body off of me if I buy this bike let me know. I'd like to know if anyone is interested in the body before I buy it so I can either get some cash or trade someone for their street plastics and lights. I'd like to have it a little planned out ahead of time before getting it and not being able to ride it right away or soon after without lights. Here are some pics of the bike that I am looking at and the race body if anyone is interested. the guy said he just painted the body recently so it looks nice!

And I have a question...Is there a way to keep the race body on it, but just buy an undertail with integrated lights and a new front fairing with headlights and just swap the race body front fairing out? I dont mind not have a passenger seat, since I don't want to let anyone ride with me.

How much for the body work? You aren't going to be able to keep that bodywork for the street. Dude has a full race kit on it.

People drill holes for lights (not stock, smaller aftermarket lights) and mirrors so they can use race fairings on the street. Gives a custom look to the bike too

There are so many of these bikes on the market that unless it's some incredible deal I would look for a street ready F4i.

this is the description from the guy who is selling it...

Vehicle Description

Awsome track bike!! 2001 Honda CBR F4I setup for the track: race plastics ( painted at the beggining of the season),new Michelin Pilot Power 2Ct's (used once), woodcraft rearsets, Micron exhaust, Penske adjustable rear suspension(set up for 200 lb rider), front suspension set up for 200 lb rider, new 520 chain conversion, new Vortex Sprockets( 2-teeth up in the rear 1- tooth down in the front), seviced at the beginning of the season( only used once). The motor pulls very strong and the bike handles incredibly! This is a very fast bike and alot of fun to ride. The bike has some minor scratches, nothing major.

$2300

and thatsperfect for my price range...

haha wow 2300 is not a bad deal at all. i'd get it. only costs like 500 or so if you find some good deals on fairings and look around a bit. just make sure he's got the title in hand. most of these race bikes i've seen on sale dont have titles to them..

I paid $4k even for mine (street-ready), but it was in immaculate condition with 8k miles.

Well track bikes usually have salvage titles hence the reason they're so cheap. I responded to you on sbn.
