My bike was purchased with a salvage title with 9800 miles and was dirty as hell. I've went threw and inspected everything on the bike and cleaned what I could to get her looking like she does today. In the pics below the cage cutouts have been slightly edited via Photoshop: the dumbarse PO used a f-ing reciprocating saw to cut the holes

Just got my Akrapovic Full Exhaust installed last weekend and I love it. The sound isn't deafening and sounds deeper and more aggressive than stock. I had the can shortened by 3in. IMO I think they look better shorter anyways. I got a hell of a deal on it and I'm not one bit disappointed. Planning on wrapping it in QUALITY CF wrap from 3M soon.

Along with the exhaust, and a lot of cleaning, I blacked out the front and rear sets (power coat to come, my plan is to get everything blacked out that isn't behind fairings) and installed some new rubbers (Pilot Power 2CT) and some standard grips (progrips). Other goodies on the way including :

PCIII USB & this under tail... Ill get pics when it comes in and I get it installed.



Other mods to come :HID, New fairings triple black and flat black. something different than all the others, maybe lowering it

I'm not a huge fan of shortend cans, but I think you nailed it just right. It looks like it came that way from the factory. Good job, looks killer !!

 

how much did the exhaust run you? local shop here has it for $400 for my 06 and i'm debating trading in the scorpion for it. should i spend the money for it?

 

400 for a full exhaust...DO IT, a new slip on cost that a the stealerships here.

Honestly I love the way it sounds. Ive gotten multiple comments on the look and sound already. I'd say trade it. Esp. if its a full exhaust.

one thing thats holding me back is learning that akrapovic was once named scorpion or something and now its two companies derived from one. can anyone clarify if this is true?
