Default New to F4i

Hey, I'm new here
I've been doing a lot of reading and theres so much info on this bike

I am looking to pick up a 01 f4i in a couple of days. 4000 miles. So far the only thing I have gathered is to get a manual CCT b/c the OEM fails. How do you know when the CCT fails??

Is there any other problems that should be brought up to my attention?

Fuel Pressure Regulator is another common part, there will be a sort of ticking sound through the rpm rang, for the CCT odds are with only 4g on your bike should be fine still. my opinion though. congrats choosing the f4i man great bikes!

the oem never truely fails just rattles mainly in the 4800~6k range..It bothers some ,some it doesnt..Depending on the mile you put on your bike ,just installing the newest updated cct will be fine. The ape being aluminum can fail and when it does it will jump timing.THe stocker will just rattle.

mine started making a noise at 8k miles,INstalled the updated one ,tweaked it per some of the threads around here.Noise still gone at 22k miles.
Enjoy the f4i its a great bike.

the CCTL rattle is harmless. you can keep the OEM one for probably 50,000 miles without replacing it if you don't mind the noise, honestly. the problem is when it starts to rattle around all RPM ranges.

But welcome to the club man. You won't be disappointed with this bike.

thanks for the replies. Also is there a big differences between the years...01 to 06??

What would be a reasonable price for a 01 with 4000 miles. Yosh carbon exhaust, targa seat cover, swingarm stand, from the pics it looks immaculate. He is askin 4000. There is also a person by me selling an 06 for like 6000. IS it worth the extra money?? I'm def gonna bargain...I just don't know whats a fair value

the 01-03s had split seat tails, and the 04-06s had banana seats. The banana seats are more comfortable, but they dont have the aggressive look of split seats. More or less, that's the biggest difference with the f4is. I'd go with the 01 if I were you; 4k miles and immaculate condition is well worth $4k.
