I'm picking up my new F4I tomorrow and I can't wait. It has some mods done like the windscreen, sliders, flush mounts, frenched tail, corbine seat and Yoshi pipe. It is also droped 1.5in front/back. I plan on doing a few upgrades myself over the winter. I will be getting either a Shorty or adjustable kick stand, Shorty levers, aftermarket mirrors, braided break lines, spools, tank protector, grips and maybe a couple other things. I get the hook up on parts so it should be pretty cheap.

This bike is pretty clean it's an 05 w/ 7k milea, never droped/laid down and only has 1 small scratch from where a stick hit it going down the road. I feel I got a pretty good deal on it, I am paying $1.2k + trading my 11 ninja 250se(13 aftermarket upgrades + all stock parts) for the bike. I can't wait to get her home tomorrow

Just curious what color is the inside of the plastics?

Thanks, I'll probably be pretty easy on her at first considering she is 3.5x the HP of my old bike and I plan on keepin her for atleast 2+ years/20k miles

It's just the OEM silver/metallic silver plastics, nothing special

You won't be getting spools as you can't put them on a F4i and I'd highly suggest raising it back to stock height [except for the front, leave it a little lowered but not 1.5"]

Ahh, I didn't realize they had to be welded on or require some drilling. I'm not gunna mess around with that though, oh well. I picked up my F4I today and already ordered some new toys for it from parts unlimited.

This is probably a dumb question, but why raise it up? I'm pretty short(28in inseam) I understand that it effects handling, especially in the corners, but I'm not one to zip around the twisties much more than 5-10mph over the speedlimit.

If you leave the front down a little bit and move the rear up you will decrease your rake and trail, giving more low speed handling but will adversely affect high speed, an running a risk of going into a tank slapper, not saying it will happen but you run a higher risk of it

I've only had tank slappers with stock suspension height and once at the track after an almost high side. You don't have any more chance of slappin after adjusting your suspension to suit your riding style.

Have always liked that color. Congrats.

That Corbin seat looks great...nice contouring.

As b&s said, there's no spool mounts. They aren't necessary. Just get yourself a rear stand that lifts w/ pads under the swingarm. To that, buy quality - buy once. I primarily use PitBull stands.

As for your suspension... Take it to a suspension setup specialist. He'll work w/ your height, body weight, riding style, etc, to get your suspension set up for optimal control & response. This isn't expensive & is well worth the time & money.

Enjoy!

I have some Pitt triple tree and swingarm stands, I haven't tried the swingarm stand on it yet though, hopefully it will work.

I plan on setting up my suspension for 2up w/ the wifey, that is if I can get her to ride with me :dunno: I'm making her take the MSF before she gets on the back of my bike though, riding with someone that knows nothing about bikes is scarry...
