Default new chain, sprockets installed (pics)

Chain was making a popping noise everytime I accelerated so I bought a new one and new sprockets. The sprockets are Vortex and I went -1 front, +2 rear, and kept the same size 525 chain. The chain was a RK Rx chain, and I think I ended up w/ 109 links. Cut the links w/ dremel and used a mini chain press to mash the links. Not hard at all IMO. Amazing how quiet and smooth the bike feels w/ new chain and sprockets. Also looks alot better. Raining here now, havnt really gotten to test acceleration or how much easier it is to wheelie.

Anyone have experience w/ speedohealer? Not sure how much my spedo is off now.

Speedohealer is easy. Highly advise getting one with your sprocket ratio. You're looking at 14-15% off on the speedo / mileage right now.

Thanks. I will prolly get one eventually, just having a hard time thinking about coughing up over a $100 for one. Anyone know where to get one cheap?

They all run right around $109. Well worth it if you don't know your speed you could get pulled and end up having to pay more then that. Plus it adds unwanted miles on your bike.

how does this effect your stability in the turns? im planning a -1/+1. not necessarily interested in top speed drops as much as drop in gas mileage.

Doesn't have a thing to do with stability. Unless you have problems jerking the throttle in turns.

yea, the only reason I want one is because I dont want to rack up unecessary miles on my bike, the accuracy of the speedo is only a after thought because its not that hard to match rpm's to whatever gear your in to figure out speed. Have to do this in my V8 swapped Rx7 because I dont want to buy the speedo converter to go from Chevy tranny to Mazda speedo.

Shouldnt have any stability issues, other than front end being a little lighter coming out of the turn from the increased torque, but go lighter on throttle.
