that is a great deal if nothing is wrong with it from sitting for a while. get some nice high mount exaust and a fender eliminator kit to start with then go from there.

tires
this is very important (though expensive ). old tires harden up. my '02 F4i would be cleaner looking if I'd changed out my tires sooner.
don't keep any tires older than 3 yrs.

forgive me but I am just getting ready to buy my first street bike an 02 0 F4i and I was curious as to why the first thing you would recommend to do is put a high mount exhaust and a fender eliminator kit?

Eager to learn this bike inside out.

because the stock fender is ugly as sin and the high mount is just his personal preferance...even though i agree. high mounts are just sexy!

1) change the oil anyways 2) I think tires will be okay untill you are ready to push it a little in some corners(dont recommend at all till new tires). You want to RAISE the bike? Never heard such a thing, doesn't sound like a good idea. Maybe there is some type of thing to raise your bars?
