just got my 2006 blue f4i--it did not come with a tool kit--should it? i have never seen a bike that didn't have one...
sure, i know it's ****e, but still...i'd love to change my preload.

Go back to the dealer and tell them. They should get it to you or order you one.

no tool kits came with the 06's. i stopped at the dealer and he let me rumage around old tool kits for a spanner wrench. none of the mechanics had an extra oneto donate either. i ended up ordering just the spanner wrench for 7 bucks.[:@]

 

that doesn't make sense - in the manual it clearly states that they come with tools...

mine didn't come with any either - i'm gonna call the dealership tomorrow to see what's up.

 

wow it came with the 2005...Unfortunately...it should have come with a gift certificate to Sears.

 

You are correct none of the '06s came with a tool kit and the manual does say on page 116 (which is NOT the only place it says this) "10. Using the spark plug wrench (10) provided in the tool kit, remove the spark plugs." Honda... SCREW YOU! =(

When I got my '06 in Jan '06, it didn't have one either. My dealer said that '06 was the first year they didn't come with one. I guess they never updated the manual because I saw that in there too. The only thing that's special is the spanner for the rear shock preload. Everything else is basic stuff.

If you order the spanner - MAKE SURE TO HAVE THEM ORDER THE EXTENDED HANDLE THAT FITS OVER IT! It's another part number, don't know what it is. With the short section of it you have to be superman to turn it...or put like a 1 foot pipe over the end of it for leverage.

 

I got one with my '06 but that's probably a Honda Canada thing. A great little toolkit it is too... just about every fastener and adjuster on the bike is covered.
