Hello,

Last season I picked up a TwoBros muffler and Hindle high mount midpipe for a very good price. The two fit well together but unfortunately did not come with a mounting bracket.

I fabricated my own "ghetto" setup temporarily and lost the use of the right footrest for a passenger (go ahead and laugh ha).

I've racked my brain on how I can fabricate something that looks better and also will allow me to mount the footrest again. One simple idea is simply getting longer bolts and mounting the footrest midway after the pipe but after several visits to just about every bolt place (Brafasco, etc..) I found they don't have bolts with the same thread pattern at a long length. I even checked online but you can't order just one unique bolt that way.

Anyways I posted about this in my local forums (http://servvq5e66xu.sn.sourcedns.com...530#post956530) and got a few answers.

Then someone else posted pics of the exact bracket I need on his bike but he isn't sure where he got it. Does anyone know where to buy this bracket and whether its the same one linked in the Hindle parts link? Here are his pics: http://www.bikepics.com/members/basicblaq/03cbr600/

have you though about making a bracket out of aluminum? would not think it would need to be no more than 1/8 thick and about a 1/2inch wide...then just bend it in a long z shape and mount it between the passenger peg and the sub frame...and space the other mounting hole of the passenger peg with a 1/8 thick washer. you should be able to find all hard ware at lowes or home depo

I had the same problem, only I had a mounting bracket for the muffler. I went to my local Fastenel (high quality hardware store) and bought a pack of bolts that are considerably longer and have the correct thread pitch. I have 6 or 7 left and Im willing to send you two for the price of shipping from cincinnati to toranto. Ill try to get a picture thisafternoon. Shoot me a pm if you'd like me to mail them.

brakeswhatbrakes - I'd rather go with something a bit more professional like in the pictures I linked rather then bent aluminum, but appreciate the input.

Anyone else have any idea where the bracket in those pictures I linked can be bought? Are they the same ones on the Hindle site I linked?

okay i came up with a good idea for you... and it shouldnt be to incredibly expensive.....

1) Put your rear foot peg back on.... then fold it pu and meaure the legnth from the end of the footpeg sticking horizontally to your exhaust hanger...... (this will be the legnth of bolt you will need)

2) Go and get a bolt that long....

Now things get a little more complicated but not horrible....

3) Take your foot peg and bolt to a local machine shop... or if you think you can do it yourself do it yourself..... tell them that you need the bottom of the passanger peg to be hollowed out so that the bolt can fit flush underneath it....

4) Once that is dont ask someone to saw off the head of the bold and weld it horizontally from the mounting/horizontal part of the foot peg.....

5) Once this is dont you will be able to put your peg up and down to have a passanger... and you have your mounting all taken care of as well... just put the bolt throuth the exhaust bracket and put a locking nut on the end.....:icon_wink:

Sounds like your talking about welding aluminum to steel which won't work.

They do make aluminum bolts..

aluminum is really soft though

shouldnt matter... the only thing that its supporting is the exhaust... the person on the back puts their weight on the foot begs which are still attached to the bike frame....
