Default Need quick help on battery location!!!

Battery is completely dead on the bike. I was going to charge it over night so I can go on a ride tomorrow but do not have a manual and have no idea how to get to the battery. Can someone provide some quick help here?! The bike is an 02' and probably could use a new battery.. what kind are you all using for these bikes. Thanks.

It's under your drivers seat. Two bolts, near the rear of the seat, toward the back of the bike. Take them out, lift off the seat, voila, battery.

Let me guess you shut the bike off but didn't turn the key? Happened to me once. Jump should have you up and running again.

Thanks for the info.. I got it all set up! No, had the key turned to the locked position, kill switch off.... I don't know what's up. The bike was on a car lot for a month or two. I should have charged it as soon as I got it home. Do the batteries on these bikes die pretty easily??

it happened to me outside a friends house, I pulled up and saw his bike out front, so i just hit the ignition button, and left the key turned. He's like come in for a minute, I'm not ready to go, so I forgot and got off and came out 10 minutes later, it was dead.[&:]

so how do these batteries charge? some time of alternator im guessing... i was just outside cleaning my bike 03 f4i, and i dont know how, but the battery died. i had the key in it, but im pretty sure it wasnt in the on position. i think it was in the off position and not in lock.. does that make a difference? what kinda battery charger should i use?

any help would be appreciated, and i saw the two bolts under the drivers seat but how do i get those out, they look tough to get out...

Do these batteries go bad pretty easy? I was gone with the army for 4 months and I came home charged it, rode it, went dead again the next morning. Did same thing went dead again, doesn't seem to want to hold charge.... do I get new one or take it to the shop?
