Damn o.0

I'm guessing this is one of the longer gas cap bolts, and not the stubby ones that just hold the cap to the ring? Could you put a little glue on one end and let it set, then try to carefully back it out?

Just be careful not to glue the broken bolt into the threads.

Probably just super glue (or gorilla glue, or something like that.) Blue loctite would probably work nicely, if you have some of that.

You'd need a small pole of some kind, and just a dab of glue on the end. I'd not suggest using the bolt piece you do have, because gluing in a broken bolt on accident would be a nightmare. Get something thin, with no threads, so that if glue does get on the threads it can dry and crack out when you put a good bolt in. A thin hex key would probably be ideal - I just tried my 2mm t-handle and it fits in there without contacting the threads. The 2.5mm worked too, but was just a hair on the big side.

This was in the holes in the gas tank itself, below where the gas cap and ring are. If your bolt is just broken in the ring, you can probably be a little more liberal with the glue as long as you don't mind some cleanup.

It's like playing operation!

yea its the ones in the tank not the ones in the gas cap. that sounds like my best bet cause i tried to call the dealerships and they said that the bolts were too small to mess with so im screwed. and i SUCKED at operation ha ha *brrrrrrrrrrrrp*

Good luck and hopefully your operation skills will be better.

Maybe "Easy out" would work?
Just drill a small pilot hole in the middle of the bolt and use the "easy out" to unscrew the bolt.

I did that with my coolant drain bolt and had to do it this way to remove it.

That is what I would suggest, a damaged bolt extractor. Hardware store, only a few bucks. Used one just the other day for a master cylinder screw.

Yuppers, on the ease-out. I had a gas cap that had a jacked up lock. The locksmith broke one of the bolts while re-installing it. I used the smallest ease-out I had (that's a 5mm bolt). drill being very careful to stay centered, use some break-free spray (letting it sit for at least 10 minutes to do it's job) and then back out the broken end with the ease-out. Good luck, Ern
