Default NEED HELP! Bike starts, but dies when I shift into gear.

Hey I just got this bike a few days ago and now when I start the bike it starts just fine. But when I went to shift last night it just died. I tried a couple of times too. Its prolly something stupid, i hope. I am pulling the clutch all the way in too and then clicking downward or upward on the shifter and then it just dies like its tring to go forward, but the clutch is in. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

put your kickstand up, it's got a safety switch on it so you can't take off with the kickstand down.

LOL, are you serious? Tell me your kidding. I've done it before, and seen it done plenty, but never actually seen it keep someone from riding. We just usually laugh and yell "KICKSTAND". Interesting.

sadly yes I have never had a bike with this kinda feature and it was in the back of a truck when I was trying to shift (moving it to my house)

LOL, well, at least you were at home when you discovered this. You didnt have to do it at a gas station or something.

#1 When your buy a bike READ THE FRIGGIN MANUAL!!!!![:@]

If it dosent have one, tell the dealer to get you a owners manual or it's a deal breaker.

I can understand not reading the manual for a VCR or wrist watch, but for several thousand dollars worth of bike take a minute to page through it. Hell I even read the manual for my lawn mower before I fired it up for the first time. This is coming from a guy who can take crap apart, fix it, and put it back together without looking at any documentation. I still read the damn manuals.
