I need some trouble shooting help. My bike was a racing bike before I bought it. Someone stripped it all down to where it was as light as possible. therefore all the wires in the front of the bike and relays and so forth are kind of just zip tied. It seems that Something is causing my bike to randomly shut off. It seems to happen when I am going fast or down a hill. I have to turn the kill switch off and then back on to get it to turn on again. Sometimes more than once. please help me with some suggestions on what to look at to fix the problem. Maybe it is something else all together that Im not thinking off.

 

Sounds like it may possibly be the bank angle sensor. That's the sensor that shuts off the motor should the bike fall over. Check that out and let us know if that's the issue.

 

Maybe a silly question, but where is the Bank Angle sensor located at? would it be in the front of the bike? Thanks for the info--get back to me if you can.

it's right above the headlight...if it was racing before...he may have jumped it...and somehow...it's not grounding or grounding...whichever one makes it shut off the bike. it's 12 here and it goes in the cowl, right above the headlight...on the inside of the cowl. it's a black box...if you follow your windscreen down towards the V, it should be sitting there, but being a track bike i don't know where the dude would've mounted it, if he even did move it...or if he just bypassed it.
