Need a couple of answers!!! Please and Thank you

I was going to go pick up a 2001 f4i this weekend with 20,4xx miles on it for 3200. I was wondering if there was anything major I should be looking for? I do have some riding experience so I know a little bit but not alot.

I was also wondering if the red decal on the tank was put on by sticker or would I have to sand that off if i wanted the all white tank??

the tanks decals/stripes are under a clear coat. so you can't just peel them off. if you talking about the stock ones that is.

Check/replace all fluids. Check break pads, tires, etc and replace if needed.

Post a pic of your bike.

Thaks guys! Yeah I know how to do an oil change, pretty easy. Flushing the brake fluid is pretty easy so yeah I plan on doing that no matter what after I get one

Don't do what I did and buy a bike with 20000 and try to ride it daily with out a tune up. I did oil but nothing else.

When you get it id do full tune. Plugs, air filter, fluids and check tires and brakes.

Ok so I think im better off bringing it in for a tune up. I know how to do the air filter, and an oil change. As for plugs, i just did the plugs on my ford ranger. Is it somewhat the same idea?

I just did my plugs a couple days ago and it was a cake walk. Don't do like the manual states and drop the radiator. If you're changing the air filter already just remove the whole intake to do you're plugs that way. I did the whole job in 3hrs but I'm slow :icon_playing: and like to chat more then work when friends are over.

Check and clean electrical connections well. Many overlook this, but it proves more problematic than you may think.

Thanks for the heads up guys, yeah I looked up how to do the spark plugs. Seems pretty easy but alot of work so yeah it could take a couple of hours for me too

20,000 miles is nothing for modern bike. $3200 is a fair price too, at least it would be around here. I would leave the decal on the tank. It looks like something is missing once its off.
