Default My new fairings

Wooo hoo! Finally put the finishing touches on mounting my new fairings. My bike has been low-sided on both sides so I crossed my fingers and pulled the trigger on some ebay fairings (450 shipped). The paint quality was actually very good and even better it arrived in only 4 days from Hong Kong!

I will admit getting everything mounted up was a b**tch, specifically I had some fitment issues with the tail section. But I think that was also related to the fact that I was installing the CompetitionWerkes fender eliminator at the same time. Also, all the pre-drilled holes had to be made bigger. Overall it took me about a week doing a few hours' worth of work a day at a laid back pace. I'm sure if I wanted to rush through it I could have got it done a lot quicker, but I like to take my time and make sure I do it right.

The only problem is my old paint was mostly black with some red, and these fairings are mostly red with some black. So my tank does look a little funny, but it's not too bad. Maybe I can get it repainted. What do you think?

Looks good. All you need now besides the tank getting painted is some FRAME SLIDERS!!!!! Just my .02

Looks like the minimal damage you had in the before pic, could have been saved by some frame sliders.

Yeah, actually I have some Vortex frame sliders waiting to be installed. I will rent a hole saw from Home Depot on a day when I have the time. Definitely my next mod.

Thanks y'all. Jumpman I have heard that I should add heat insulating material to the insides of the lowers. I will do that when I do the frame sliders. BTW for anyone that is interested my old fairings are for sale. The fender and the front cowl are in nice condition. I also have an OEM right mirror and OEM windscreen. PM if interested.

Which seller did you buy from? I bought a set from auctmart1, upper cowllooked goodexcept for the mounting points for the headlights so I had to buy OEM. The left and right fairing looks decent but have yet to mount them.
