There is plenty of clearance...if I could I would put it deeper but the brackets wouldnt fit right. Its deceiving from the back because the bracket is slanted. Thanks for the props though!

Yeah I did forget to mention that. Saw a few people with em so I broke out my circular saw and hooke it up. Not bad for $2.

Oh and yes this is my first bike. I've rode my buddies bikes all the time but never had the desire to own one until just recentlly.

thats cool. I'm doing my research on maybe getting one of these or a 99-'00 F4 as a first bike.

i started on a ninja 250, payed almost nothing for it. probably the best thing you can do i feel so much better about gettin on my 600 now than i would have beetn. ill admit in comparison a 250 doesnt seem that desirable though.

Get new tires ASAP!!

Those Dunlop 207's have been discontinued for as while, along with the 208's that came out after the 207's. I'd guess that with that many miles on an '02 that those are the original tires, which means they're drying out and losing grip.
Spend the few bucks...it's not worth crashing on old tires.
Look into Dunlop Qulaifiers, Pirelli Diablo corsas or Michelin Pilot Powers

Anyway, nice bike. You'll like the F4i...it can handle anything!

Yeah i was looking at the Michelin Pilot Powers...seem to stick to the road and i can get a set for $220 shipped. Anybody know where in CT would be a good place to get work done like this?
