My 02 f4i sounds weird in first gear only..
 

My bike sounds very rattly and there is a small vibration when revving in the 2k-2.2k. When accelerating from 3k to around 8-9k its really rough and rattly (vibration?). This is ONLY in first gear though. No other gear is like that. :( Is it the CCTL? I'm new to bikes and this is my first bike (got it 2 weeks ago exactly) I want to take care of it :/ I haven't gotten a chance to get it into service and check everything out, but I bought the bike from a friend, and he takes care of everything he has so..idk. :( help please! :(

The CCT would be my first guess. I would be cautious of running it, until you DO
determine the cause of your sound. It can start grinding metal inside the cases,
if it's allowed to go too long. If you're not familiar with mechanical procedures and
don't have the basic tools, this might be worth paying a qualified mechanic to address.

If you do feel qualified to deal with it yourself, check the 'how-to' and "general tech"
sections for several good threads on the issues/diagnostics, involved.
