So how do you know if there is a class offered in your area.... I have never heard of MSF before I got onto these forums...

Also none of my other bike buddies had any clue either....
Well after doing a little research for ya, i found this link, I hope it helps. http://tennessee.gov/safety/mrep.htm
Gotta love the freakin internet!!!!!

I did a google search and believe the course in Canada is called "Gearing up". Click HERE. I am not sure if they have different levels or if it is nationwide.

When I took the MSF ERC course we went over everything that the Basic Rider Course covered but just "amped" it up a bit. We practiced everything at faster speeds and covered more techniques.
That looks like a cool course but unfortunately it's not offered in my area. I'll have to search for something in my area. I know there are safety courses but I want to learn skills too.

Do you know what proper riding position is (for all parts of your body)? lane positioning? the proper way to drive defensively on the streets?

I think it is a great class. I took it last August. In CA under 21 it is mandatory to take it. Over 21 you are on your own. Cost me $225, and my friend $150 (under 21 for her).

I might take the ERC this summer or go for a track day/weekend.

f&*K the army makes you go to them every time you go to a new post so they are ok but you take your own bike.

seems like common sense to me... if u want to avoid gettin hit by other ppl... drive where u can make sure everyone sees you.

a class isnt going to teach u what experience will... unless ur part of the 75% of ppl who wont come close to knowing the capabilities of their bike
