Default Mirrors crack my fairing

I have aftermarket integrated mirrors. I recently tightened them and used removable threadliner to try and help the vibration in them. I don't think I cranked them down too hard. This was a couple months ago. We just had a cold snap and the bike has been in an unheated garage. When I looked at the bike today I noticed spider wed cracks around the mirrors all the way through the fairing.

Anybody had this same issue or any suggestions to fix this without replacing the entire front fairing. I was thinking clear epoxy to fix the cracks and then touch up paint.

Is that like a loctite? It must have some sort of chemical reaction with the plastics and make it brittle, as my bike did the same thing too. I ended up applying fiberglass to the back side of the upper.
If you look real close, you'll see where mine developed.

It's typical for a high vibration area, I doubt it has anything to do with your mirrors, was just time for the paint to say uncle. I also doubt that your fairing itself is affected much, just the paint.

Either way, plastics can be repaired and repainted.

They are thru and thru cracks. Not just the paint. The other side is not as big, but still a big bummer. Good winter project I guess.

That's pretty bad. About the only thing holding that together is the windscreen. But it's still fixable. I'd take care of it ASAP, lest it gets worse.

In my experience, a tight mirror would not cause a crack like that all the way through the fairing. I think either your fairing was previously weakened by a crash or other impact, or something else whacked it when you weren't around. Although I suppose it's possible, just seems unlikely. Sucks either way. Definitely fixable, though.
