I would definitely say it's because you aren't used to riding. When I first got my bike I was constantly scooting around on the seat, but after you ride enough, you will find your own "sweet spots" for different types of riding, and it wont be a problem anymore. The only soreness I still get is in my right hand when riding hard.

I'm a new rider as well..and I always end up skooting all the way up with my nuts against the tank and my legs squezzing that tank for dear life

Rode for an hour that day..my longest ride. My inner thighs were sore for 2 days after that and I got a huge outline of black and blue on my calf the size of a softball..I got no idea where it came from

Im usually up by the tank anyways...seems the most comfortable to me so far...

but i havent gone on any long rides yet on the f4i

Well you're half right...there is only ONE correct riding position...that position is...where ever YOU feel the most comfortable.

You guys with the sore asses sound like a bunch of pansies... they sell cream for that you know; usually found next to the Vagisil
