I saw that ad on the right of this screen about magnetic oil drain plugs. And it seems like a really good idea. Does anyone already have these, and how good do u think they work. Here's a link for anyone that doesnt know what im talking about. http://www.magneticdrainplug.com/Mot...lugs/MP01.html

Yeah, they work. I've had cars with them from the factory already like that and it's amazing how much is actually on it at 2-3000 miles. You can literally wipe off the metal shavings. Although, you can do the same thing by sticking a magnet onto the side or end of the oil filer.

That's an awesome idea! I think I'll do the magnet on the oil filter. Thanks guys!

not to discourage people from buying from a site sponsor, but couldn't you theoretically stick a strong magnet on the stock drain plug and run the bike for a few minutes before changing the oil?
like I said though, its only $8 in the group buy, so I'm getting one anyway

yea, i mean its only 8 bucks, and plus i think its a good idea because the magnet is actually inside the oil pan, rather than sticking one on the side or on the filter. Im gonna buy one then, and then just hold on to it until i change the oil again. Speakin of oil, anyone know where to buy some repsol oil? and do ya'll think thats the best stuff? thanks

Repsol

I haven't ordered any from them, but I may soon. I bought a gallon of it at the International Motorcycle Show, and my local dealer doesn't stock it.

uhhhhhh what does not owning a Honda have to do with oil???

I don't know that its the "best" or even if there is a "best" but it does its job with no issues so far, so I'm happy. I also change my oil after every weekend at the track though, which most people don't do

He means because Repsol sponsors Honda racing.

okay but they're just an oil company that sponsors HRC's MotoGP team. that doesn't have anything to do with streetbikes though...
