Default low speed riding...and Erion pipes..

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I ride a 2001 F4i that I got in Sept '05. Bike has about 1000 miles on it. I used to ride bikes in India but none of them were as powerful as this one. I am using the bike mostly to commute to work and I am on back roads most of the time. Never been above 50-55mph. I usually ride in 3rd or 4th gear with revs upto 5-6k. Should I be riding in a lower gear at these low speeds and get the revs up higher? I dont feel lack of power and I'm comfortable at the gear/rev I am using now. I just wanted to make sure I am not riding in too high a gear or too low rpm. Any tips will be appreciated!!

Also any thoughts about the Erion Racing pipes? I have not seen/heard too much about them. I am happy with them but I wanted to know if anyone had any input about these pipes.

Thanks,
Mojo.

These bikes love RPM! Get in a safe area take her on up to 12,000! You'll be amazed around 8,000-11,500.

You are riding just fine in that RPM range.
I used to have an Erion Racing exhaust on my F3.

I think they stopped making Erion exhausts. Im not sure about that one but I think they did.

Ride where you feel comfortable with it. The bike will really kick at a little higher RPM though. Looks supa slick by the way.

if you're commuting...5-6K is not enough...
if you need extra power it's not there...if you need engine braking it's not there...
ride higher...so if you need sudden power, bam you're gone...if you need to brake, you gots the engine to help too...

and screaming 'may' let others hear you...but seriously...with all these people talking on the cell phone, drinking coffee and putting on lipstick while blasting NWA...they will hear nothing!

Pretty much like everyone said, ride where you are comfortable.
And as for the Erion pipes....I love mine!
