low end torque problem..

yeah so i was one of those idiots that bought that "moto stealth gp exhaust" off of ebay i know lol... and since put the stock pipe back on, although low end power and throttle response doesn't quite seem to have come back completely. bike has about 28k on it and i'm just wondering why that is. from 1500 to about 5 or 6 grand it's pretty sluggish and i'm not quite sure what's going on unless its cuz the valves were damaged.

not being a dick, but these bikes usually don't begin to really pull until about 7k

DarkJuic3b0x 10-19-2009 09:53 PM

Ditto! Although the bike is still fast below 7K RPM, 7K RPMs and above, my bike starts to haul ass, as with any bike. Welcome to the club! You're probably just used the to the GP exhaust or whatever you got, and then going back to stock. I'm not sure, no expert on that.

yeah it's all good guys. i just seem to remember it pullin harder before i started swapping exhausts. and also, i was told lack of backpressure burns up the valves and it did run about 20 degrees hotter and also heated up way faster with the moto gp exhaust

The exhaust isnt really that big of an issue. These bikes don't have the low end torque under 7K rpms. If you want more low end torque. Change your front sprocket to a -1 or a 15 tooth. You will then see the difference. Thats what alot of us do.
