How so? The DDM kits have two spade connections that plug into the OEM socket. It's not like you have to hard-wire in a lighting system.

it's not the installation, its the extra wiring to be tucked in there, i've had to remove the front fairing a few times and it's always a pain to match everything back on, i couldn't imagine having to deal with extra cables making it more complicated. Plus, i've gotten pretty good satisfaction from those eBay "hid" bulbs and simple install, not that i mind a project.

Redz, got a question for ya, I see that you didn't put that "black box" which is close to the carpet in the middle of the fairing, in between the headlights. I put mine in there, along with my ballasts, and everything is crammed, not to mention my 3M tape is failing. We're having a rainy week, so I'm tackling a few projects.

What did you zip tie on the ballasts? And where do you "conceal" those 'black boxes?' Right now my wires are great, but that damn tape is starting to go.

Ah. I didn't seem to have much of a problem with it. But maybe the previous owner chopped some of the stock wiring out. Wouldn't be surprised...

Any input on the 55w kit vs the 35w HID kit minus the $10 difference?

unless you have the kit. you have to watch the watts on the bulb. it can melt the wires or mess up your system if the watts are to high cause its drawin to much power "amps".

I've heard people say the F4i handles the 55W heat output just fine because it's a pretty big housing. I wouldn't recommend it for something like the 600RR though.

You don't need 55w HIDs, regardless of whether or not the housing can handle it. 35w is plenty.
