LOUD clunking/Knocking noise.... WORRIED!

Hey guys. I've got a problem...

My 06 F4i makes a really bad clunking or knocking sound when accelerating and a little when letting off the throttle. It's really loud and you can hear it from a fair bit of distance away. I know this is 100% not normal and I really don't want to wreck my new bike. I know I can take it to the dealers, but I would really like to know what it is myself, if anyone knows.

First of all. The clunk is unheard when sitting idle. It is unheard when revving in neutral. It is unheard when pulling away slowly.

The sound is a violent sound and my dad seems to think that its coming from the gearbox. It is hard to listen to it when riding as you have to accelerate but you can feel the knocking of the vibrations under the seat.

Also, the chain is tightened as much as it should be, and as far as I know I'm riding it properly, but the sound still continues. Please help if you have any idea what this sound could be.

If you need to know anything else, I'll try and find out for you.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Are you sure it's not the chain? When my chain was warped it used to make a pretty nasty clunking sound. Whenever it was tightened too much, it would get tight, then real loose, then real tight, then real loose and it would constantly pop. Put your bike on some stands and see if you can hear it when you spin the wheel!
